We have a monitored door access system at the nursery. We can see who is at the door before it is opened, and we can speak with the visitor or a parent/guardian before allowing entrance.

Children are not released to other relatives or friends unless we have received prior notification. We employ a password system, and some form of identification such as a passport is required. Personal knowledge of the child is also essential.

The outdoor play areas are secure. They are bolted and fenced. Naturally, they are inaccessible to the general public. They are checked before children are taken outside, and of course the children are monitored at all times.

Trips and outings are planned from the start to ensure maximum safety for the children.

Parents are always welcome at the nursery, and we encourage you to visit or phone at any time for your peace of mind.

Accidents

Though we take every care to ensure the safety of your child, minor accidents do occasionally occur. Our strict training requirements often mean that all on-site staff have first-aid training. We always have at least one qualified first-aider on site. Minor accidents are recorded in an accident book, to be signed by the parent when collecting their child. The book gives details of the injury, how it happened, how it was treated and who by. In the event of an accident requiring hospital treatment, the contact details provided on the child's personal form allow us to contact the appropriate people as fast as possible.

Illness

At Tiny Tots we follow guidelines set by the department of public health. If your child becomes unwell at Tiny Tots you will be contacted if we feel it beneficial to your child and other children in our care. For infectious illnesses we request that a GP is consulted. We reserve the right to refuse admission to any child suffering from an infectious illness. There are no reductions in fees. We are sensitive to the needs of working parents and will accept children into nursery with minor illness requiring medication. Tiny Tots will only administer prescribed medicine to a child after consent forms are completed.
